Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:
• Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head
• Preparation of documentation for approval of Class and statutory bodies.
• Supervise the work of CAD designers and contractors to ensure quality standards and design criteria are met.
• Attend, when requested, vessel inspections to define the scope of work required for vessel modifications, repairs and conversions.
• Conduct design review meetings to assure that technical objectives are being achieved.
• Executing duties of Project Engineer if required.
• Ensuring that all activities are in line with OHS & E requirements.
• Liaison with Client in order to assure that all technical/engineering requirements are met.
• Ensure employees are aware and follow the information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.
• Conducting shipyard audits, risk assessment and training as required.
• Implement and enhance approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and provide instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
• Ensuring engineering work undertaken is accordance with Departmental Work Instructions, Procedures and Standards.
• Review and approve structural design proposals.
• Writing technical specifications for shipboard equipment
