The role will execute security responsibilities for one or more complex Security work streams in order to protect BAE Systems/BSL, its people, infrastructure, information and assets, as well as the interests of its shareholders and customers, and to fulfil regulatory and legal obligations.
This role profile typically requires an individual with an extensive security background.

The role holder may be required to carry out additional or alternative tasks from time to time, subject to holding the appropriate qualifications. Experience across the all the Security Disciplines (Physical/Operational/Personnel and Cyber/Information) is required.

• Oversee security tasks and coordinate security services based on relevant policies, standards, procedures and best practices of the assigned work stream(s)
  
• Support Development of Operational Security Policies and Procedures ensuring the Qatar business is aligned to Group and Air Security policy
  
• Assess the adequacy of the security measures within their business area to ensure that policies and procedures are up-to-date and take account of developments
  
• Act as a central point of contact for Security compliance queries and issues, providing definitive guidance and instruction
  
• Monitor performance of staff in order to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and effectively
  
• Oversee the readiness of their team s response to security incidents. Ensure suitable incident plans are produced and rehearsed
  
• Conduct and review security assessments and define operational requirements for the assigned work stream to protect critical assets
  
• Assure the integrity of BAE/BSL employees working in the assigned business area by assessing personnel security and access control processes and procedures
  
• Production and maintenance of Security Risk Registers ensuring they align to Air Sector policy
  
• Provide security advice and guidance to the business group internal and external stakeholders and make recommendations to improve security solutions for the work stream
  
• Build effective relationships and coordination with key local functions, Qatari Customer, QEAF base Security representatives, British Embassy, UK Based Security Teams and business representatives
  
• Influence the security culture by raising security awareness among employees and management in the local area and modelling behaviors that demonstrate BAE Systems values
  
• Deliver cross functional peer to peer assurance as part of a One Team Air Sector approach
  
• Carry out regular Operational reviews to ensure the objectives of the central security intelligence & operational support responsibilities are being met and maintained
  
• Provide reports, intelligence and an overview of the on base security climate to the HoS Air (UK) and Head of Operational Security Air (UK) along with liaison with the Head of Cyber Security (UK)
  
• Ensure requirements for Cryptographic management of UK HMG MoD and customer cryptographic keys and infrastructure are adhered to.
  
• Direct the annual document muster ensuring any PMM failings are identified to the Head of Operational Security (UK)
  
• Ensure and Assure compliance with all Protectively Marked Material (PMM) mandates regarding creation, retention, storage transportation, access and destruction
  
• Produce, maintain and delivery Security Threat Briefings to Staff and visitors
  
• Conduct, on behalf of the Air Security Investigations Team, local security investigations
  
• Work with IM&T to ensure all Information and Cyber Security requirements are captured and actioned
  

Requirements

• Demonstrates technical knowledge and skills reflective of a security SQEP practitioner who has progressed within security positions of increasing responsibility
  
• Thorough knowledge of BAE Systems security policies and procedures
  

• Knowledge approaches to security management including physical, personnel, information, cyber and operational security
  
• Experience of security risk management techniques
  
• Experience of security systems, manned guarding and incident response principles
  
• Good understanding of government and industry security standards and best practice guidance
  
• Experience of delivering security management and protecting high value assets and working in high risk environments
  
• Developed communications skills required due to the nature of the work in Security often handling sensitive employee data, highly classified Government Information and awkward contacts
  
• Tact and diplomacy required to reach a suitable outcome with a client focused attitude whilst maintaining the highest ethical and behavioral standards of BAE.
  
• Good customer relationships
  

• In-depth knowledge of HMG and industry standard security policy, standards and good practice guidance
  
• Holistic approach to security, ideally with knowledge in Cyber/Info Security
  
• Good level of English, written & verbal
  
• Experience of operating in the Middle East desirable.
  
• Typically college educated, however relevant operational experience will be taken into account.
  
• Job requires an understanding of how own tasks and duties impact others in the team and the overall business
  
• Job requires an understanding of how the team coordinates their efforts to achieve the overall objectives of the Security Function
