Assistant Dock Master

Responsibilities:
• Supervise preparations of flooding & dewatering operation; blocking & unblocking vessels in docks.
• Liaise with clients and project managers in regards to technical options, proposals, project scheduling and updates.
• Supervise & monitor testing & commissioning activities including bollard pulls.
• Approve conformity of staff, its personal or on-duty gate passes and permits
• Maintenance & upkeep of marine assets such as Yokohama fenders, Water bags, load cell. Etc…
• Provide employees’ performance appraisals & updates for training requirements
• Assist Dock Master-Pilot for Approving Dock plan, Vessels Blocking, Berthing, & Docking. Heavy lift activities Etc…
• Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
• Liaise with Invoicer’s / estimators to ensure that work carried out are within commercial targets.
• Train & supervise the induction process of new comers. And assist new Dock Master-Pilot to familiarize with Dock Master Responsibilities.
• Receive and cast off vessels from Docks, berths and Heavy lift Operation as well.
• Ensure that the Safety, Quality & Environment requirements of the yard are strictly followed.
• Co-ordinate Manpower and resources and update work progress to project SRM, Superintendent, other trades and within own Department.
• Ensure the safety of mooring & their effectiveness. Rounds to be taken on quays & yard.
