The Occupational Therapist will play a key role in supporting new mothers infants and families through the Home Visiting Program for New Parents.
The role focuses on promoting maternal and infant wellbeing supporting parents in adapting to daily routines and providing guidance on child development family functioning and safe nurturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct home visits with new parents to assess maternal and infant needs in
daily activities bonding and caregiving routines.
Support mothers in adapting to postpartum changes including physical
emotional and environmental adjustments.
Provide guidance on infant development milestones (feeding sleep play
sensory regulation and motor skills).
Educate families on strategies to create safe supportive and stimulating home
environments.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (social workers nurses
dietitians and psychologists) to ensure holistic family support.
Develop individualized plans to promote parental confidence functional skills
and positive family routines.
Identify families requiring additional clinical or community-based interventions
and refer as appropriate.
Document visits assessments and progress according to program standards.
Participate in training supervision and quality improvement activities to
strengthen service delivery.
Contribute to community outreach and awareness of the Home Visiting Program.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized
university.
Current professional license/registration with DOH (Department of Health Abu
Dhabi) or eligibility to obtain.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatrics maternal health early
intervention or family-centered practice (home visiting experience preferred).
Strong knowledge of infant and child development family dynamics and
postpartum health.
Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills strongly preferred.
Experience working in multicultural community-based settings is an advantage.
