You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailA Pavement Engineer specializing in airport projects is responsible for the design evaluation and maintenance planning of airside pavements such as runways taxiways and aprons. The role ensures that pavement systems meet operational safety and regulatory standards.
Design & Analysis: Perform structural design and analysis of flexible and rigid pavements using FAA ICAO and local authority guidelines.
Pavement Evaluation: Conduct pavement condition surveys non-destructive testing (NDT) and load-bearing capacity assessments (e.g. PCN calculations).
Material Selection: Specify appropriate materials for subgrade base and surface layers to meet performance and durability requirements.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with civil geotechnical and airfield lighting teams to ensure integrated airside infrastructure design.
Construction Supervision: Monitor pavement construction testing and quality control to ensure compliance with design specifications.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports design calculations and maintenance plans including rehabilitation and overlay strategies.
Experience in airport airside pavement design and construction (runways taxiways aprons).
Proficiency in software like FAARFIELD COMFAA HEADS or similar pavement design tools.
Familiarity with ICAO Annex 14 FAA Advisory Circulars and ASTM/AASHTO standards.
Strong foundation in pavement engineering and materials science
Experience with heavy-duty pavement load design (aircraft loads)
Analytical thinking and technical reporting
Coordination with multidisciplinary airport project teams
