You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailA 5-Star Hotel is seeking a Head Mixologist with creative flair and passion for beverages to lead its bar team.
The Head Mixologist oversees an establishments bar operations. The job requires organization, problem-solving and communication skills. He supervises multiple aspects of supplying, running and operating a bar as a standalone location or as part of a restaurant, hotel or other hospitality service business.
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Work in partnership with the Restaurant Manager to execute the smooth and flawless operation of the Bar and Restaurant
Develop a complete working knowledge of the menu items and their ingredients and preparation
Develop a complete working knowledge of all products served in the bar
Creates seasonal craft cocktail menus and craft cocktails for special events
Drive cocktail menu changes to ensure fresh, innovative and seasonally accurate cocktails are available on the menu
Presents ideas to enhance the beverage program is stays up to date on current trends
Train bartenders and service team to ensure beverage knowledge and service levels are to standard. Conduct weekly training sessions on beverage pouring practice, cocktail mixing, bottle flaring and up-selling
Ensure that all details of service are performed by the bartenders to expected standards and that every guest receives the highest quality of service in line with LQA standards
Assist with beverage procurement, beverage costing
Complete product requisitions accurately and maintain bar beverage inventory control
Ensure all bartender checks are closed and guest billing is accurate
Monitor bar opening and closing duties and completed daily to standard by bartenders
Achieve total guest satisfaction and organizational profitability through effective utilization of all resources
Delight the guest by offering trend setting and innovative products and services, contribute to sales activities and assist in maximizing revenue
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of two years experience in Bar Operations
Excellent bartending skills coupled with thorough knowledge about all types of wines, liquor and cocktails are an advantage
Previous experiences in leadership and managerial roles are a definite plus
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Excellent work ethic with a high degree of responsibility
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team and build relationships
