Job Description
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the transhipment operations for shipments between different regions with a primary focus on Europe.
- Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of goods through transhipment hubs managing both inbound and outbound logistics.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the transhipment process reducing delays and improving costefficiency.
- Coordinate with suppliers carriers and port authorities to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulations.
- Supervise and manage a team of logistics professionals providing guidance and training to ensure high levels of performance.
- Negotiate contracts with shipping lines freight forwarders and other service providers to secure competitive pricing and quality services.
- Track and monitor shipments resolving any delays issues or discrepancies in the transhipment process.
- Analyze and report on logistics performance recommending improvements in processes systems and technology.
- Ensure compliance with local and international customs regulations import/export laws and any other relevant trade regulations.
- Develop contingency plans for potential delays or disruptions in the transhipment chain.
- Ensure that the warehouse management transportation and distribution functions align with transhipment schedules and operational goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in transhipment logistics with a strong focus on the European region.
- Indepth knowledge of European shipping routes customs regulations and supply chain practices.
- Experience with freight forwarding shipping line operations and managing logistics teams.
- Proven ability to develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize cost time and efficiency.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to work with international partners and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage a team foster collaboration and lead with a solutionoriented approach.
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in logistics management software Microsoft Office and other related tools.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
