Job Description

International Community School is looking for a school facilities manager to oversee the maintenance safety and functionality of the schools physical infrastructure. This role involves managing building systems such as HVAC plumbing and electrical coordinating regular maintenance and repairs and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The facilities manager also handles budgeting vendor management and emergency response planning. Additionally they work closely with school administrators staff and contractors to create a safe efficient and comfortable environment for students staff and visitors.

Requirements

1. Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor s degree in facilities management building management engineering architecture or a related field is often preferred.
  • Certifications in Facilities Management (e.g. CFM FMP) or relevant technical fields (e.g. HVAC electrical systems) may be an advantage.

2. Experience:

  • Previous experience in facilities management building maintenance or a similar role ideally in an educational or large institutional setting.
  • Experience in team management project management and budget oversight.

3. Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC plumbing electrical) and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with facility management software for tracking work orders maintenance and scheduling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively.

4. Leadership and Communication Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills to manage staff and contractors.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with school administrators staff and external vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks efficiently.

5. Health Safety and Compliance Knowledge:

  • Indepth understanding of safety regulations local building codes and environmental compliance.
  • Experience in emergency response planning and implementing health protocols within a school setting.

6. Other Skills:

  • Organizational skills to maintain accurate records and schedules.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities to address and resolve issues related to school facilities.
