The Piping Field Engineer is responsible for overseeing the installation testing and commissioning of piping systems during the construction phase of oil and gas projects. This role requires an experienced professional with a strong background in piping engineering to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality safety and efficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate the installation of piping systems and equipment onsite.
- Ensure that all piping installations adhere to project specifications drawings and industry standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of piping work.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel including pipefitters and subcontractors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipingrelated issues that arise during construction.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications codes and safety standards.
- Implement quality control procedures to monitor and verify the integrity and performance of piping installations.
- Conduct hydrostatic and pneumatic tests to ensure the reliability and safety of piping systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections tests and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines project managers and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on piping engineering progress and issues.
- Assist in the development and review of project schedules budgets and resource plans.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture onsite adhering to all HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of piping works.
- Ensure that all piping activities comply with environmental regulations and best practices.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Piping Engineering or a related field.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 10 Years of Engineering Experience in oil and gas industry with 5 years in Field engineering.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems materials and installation techniques specific to oil and gas projects.
- Proficiency in using piping design and analysis software (e.g. AutoCAD CAESAR II).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g. ASME API ANSI).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a teamoriented environment.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
