We are looking for a seasoned cardiothoracic surgeon to perform surgical procedures on patients in the thorax region. The responsibilities of Cardiothoracic Surgeons include determining diagnoses treating diseases and performing surgical be successful as a cardiothoracic surgeon you should have a passion for cardiothoracic surgery excellent research skills and the ability to manage stress well. Ultimately a top-class cardiothoracic surgeon should think in a logical and methodical manner demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and be willing to work long and irregular hours.
Cardiothoracic Surgeon Responsibilities:
- Perform complex surgical procedures on the heart lungs esophagus and other thoracic organs including:
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
- Valve repair or replacement
- Congenital heart defect correction
- Lung resections (lobectomy pneumonectomy)
- Thoracic tumor excisions
- Evaluate and diagnose patients using advanced diagnostic tools (e.g. echocardiography CT MRI).
- Lead pre-operative assessments and consultations to ensure surgical readiness.
- Manage intraoperative care with a multidisciplinary team (anesthesiologists perfusionists nurses).
- Oversee post-operative care and monitor recovery complications and rehabilitation progress.
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists pulmonologists oncologists and ICU teams.
- Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and follow DHA guidelines.
- Mentor junior doctors surgical residents and support up to date with the latest advancements in cardiothoracic surgery.
Requirements:
- Degree in medicine and a Specialization degree in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Extensive and stable work history as a cardiothoracic surgeon.
- License to practice.
- The ability to perform surgery under pressure.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Patience.
- Minimum three years of work experience.
