The Typhoon Qualified Instructor Pilot will be responsible for the delivery of air and ground based pilot training to QAF personnel, utilising the Typhoon aircraft and Qatar Mission Training Simulators and teaching devices.
They will hold the position of an airborne Instructor Pilot with the QAF Typhoon squadron. The incumbent will be responsible for the delivery of Convex Training to Instructor Pilots, and subsequently, academic, synthetic and flying training to QAF Typhoon student pilots. This will enable the build-up and sustainment of QAF Typhoon Force pilot strength and operational capability.
This is a Delivery Manager role providing critical training and operational expertise into the QAF Typhoon pilot training system. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting QAF with the design and development of student pilot, front-line pilot and instructor pilot training courses and will deliver classroom, synthetic and airborne pilot training events iaw the approved QAF Typhoon Training Syllabus. The incumbent will be required to fly instructional missions in direct and/or indirect support of QAF Typhoon pilot trainees as a member of the training squadron staff. It is essential that they maintain a detailed knowledge of the aircraft avionics and weapons systems, SOPs, and the tactical employment of the Typhoon. In addition, they are expected to be familiar with the classroom media operation, Typhoon synthetic training devices, Mission Training Simulator and the Avionics Part Task Trainer.
Assist QAF in the delivery of their overall Typhoon Pilot Training Plan
o Deliver flying training
o Deliver synthetic training
o Deliver classroom based training
Assist QAF with the design and development of the QAF Typhoon Training Syllabus iaw with extant policies and mandates
Instruct and assess the pilots/trainees during airborne training missions as required by the QAF Typhoon training squadron flying training programme.
Compile student progress and achievement reports.
Demonstrate the safety procedures associated with operation of the Typhoon aircraft.
Support customer/BAE Systems reviews of the aircrew training activity in Oatar including Design Reviews.
Advise/support QAF instructors on all aircrew related aspects of the Typhoon aircraft.
Carry out ground based aircraft system training, through ground school lectures and briefings.
Conduct Typhoon simulator training for ab-initio and qualified pilots, through pre-flight briefings, post flight debriefings and the associated reports.
Conduct airborne flying instruction in the Typhoon.
Support the Head of Air Service - Oatar Ltd in the delivery of flying operations iaw the QAF requirements.
Configure and operate the training devices.
Brief / debrief the pilot / trainees to include written documentation of training events in any mission.
Provide assistance to the QAF training organisation in developing / refining syllabi, regulations and associated training material for flying training.
Compile student progress and achievement reports.
Demonstration of the safety procedures associated with operation of the aircraft.
Be a qualified aircrew instructor in airborne, academic and the operation of the training devices.
Use the QAF assets to conduct airborne instruction in the Typhoon.
Utilise the aircraft Mission Training Simulators, and teaching devices to provide ground based pilot training at the training centre and on the Squadron.
To maintain knowledge of current aircraft operations, the aircraft and weapons configuration as capability is introduced or enhanced.
