Ensure that the project's proposed internal project management procedures are approved by the company and implemented by all project personnel in full compliance with contract requirements and company procedures.
Implement documented induction sessions for all project staff to ensure they are aware of project requirements.
Ensure that all project personnel are aware of approved project procedures and drawings. The project staff reporting to the Construction Chief consists of construction supervisors, a multi-disciplinary team of engineers (core) and site inspection engineers.
Provide project staff with guidance in reviewing design and/or bid and contract documents and advise the company of any deficiencies.
Review and comment on the contractor's proposed site organization and key workflows.
Review and monitor contractor, proposed construction equipment and labor scheme, and advise company of any time shortages.
Establish and document procedures for consideration of proposed subcontractors, suppliers, materials, shop drawings, and any other submission by contractors. Any deviation from project requirements must be appropriately reported to company management, dealing with any potential time and/or cost impact associated with it.
Ensure contractor compliance with its contractual obligations in relation to design changes, direction notices, etc.
Regular visits to the project site to comprehensively monitor site activities regarding quality, safety and progress and inform company representatives of findings, areas of concern and take corrective action.
Lead the project team in evaluating all requests for information (internet) as submitted by the contractor and communicating with the design consultant in a timely manner if necessary. However, if the project team has sufficient information and supporting documentation, it prepares the contractor's response without delay.
Ensure project staff engagement and implementation of field quality, safety and progress control procedures.
Deep involvement in procedures related to contractor transportation, method statements, project quality plan, safety plan, timelines, and compliance with project objectives.
Lead the project in reviewing and implementing initial commissioning and commissioning plans.
Lead the project team in final inspection of the work and preparation of defect list. This activity must be fully coordinated with the end user.
