Job Description

Responsible for ensuring the execution of priority business initiatives. This role will act as the key interface between the technical and business team, coordinating the effort to deliver business-critical initiatives and projects. The role will also be responsible for proactively identifying areas of improvement within the organization and seeking ways to become more effective and efficient as a company.


Business Context


Our client is a credit company looking to expand their presence in the Kenyan market, is currently looking at ways to optimize and improve its existing processes and exploring alternative revenue sources and products. Our client is looking for someone to drive and manage the delivery of the above.


Role Overview


The role will include but will not be limited to:

  • Leading the local business according to the requirements set out by the technical team.

  • Motivating employees and driving them towards achieving their targets, goals and objectives.

  • Implementing and coordinating any action items required by the technical team.

  • Providing consistent updates on progress to the technical team.

  • Identifying areas for improvement and optimization in the organization.

  • Identifying additional products and revenue streams for the organization.

  • Formulating the business requirements for new and existing products.

  • Piloting various initiatives with the close support of the technical team.

  • Rolling out various initiatives set by themselves and the technical team.

  • Managing the various initiatives and projects that are on the go and ensuring timeous delivery and sufficient allocation of resources.

  • Prioritizing initiatives and projects in an effective manner.

  • Getting input from various parts of the business.

  • Building reporting structures around processes and reviewing with the technical team.

  • Consistently managing communications between the business team and the technical team.

  • Bench-marking activities and processes against competitors and best practices.



Requirements

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor s degree in a business-related field.

  • 2-5 years experience in the financial sector and / or in a project management role (additional benefit is having a project management certification).

  • Experience in basic business tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

  • Technical experience in BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and proficiency in a programming language (SQL, Python, etc.) will be beneficial (but not required)

Competencies & Skills

  • Good communication skills.

  • The ability to manage many projects simultaneously and balance a large workload.

  • An ability to collect and synthesize information from a variety of sources.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Good people skills and the ability to motivate others.


The Ideal Candidate Should:

  • Have experience in the financial services / credit space in Kenya.

  • Have experience in project management.

  • Be proactive and eager to bring about change in the organization.

  • Be tenacious in achieving business goals and outcomes.

  • Show an eagerness and willingness to learn.

  • Be flexible and adaptable to change.
