The HSSE & Q advisor will provide technical leadership and support for the team onshore and offshore across UAE & Qatar and work closely with the team in MEI region. The role ensures that projects and client related (ADNOC BP Chevron QE) risk assessments safety management plans projects and vessel specific emergency response plans are prepared in time with adequacy and Project team along with offshore HSSE team supported as required.
Key responsibilities:
Support day-to-day HSSE tasks and processes systems and practices in line with guidance from senior advisors.
Collecting data and observations to support performance reporting monitoring and learning.
Provide HSSE support to the operational team during geophysical and geotechnical vessels operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to minimize operational disruptions enhance emergency preparedness and drive continuous improvement in HSSE performance.
Operationalise the companys HSSE and/or Q systems practices programmes and practices across multiple projects or locations ensuring alignment with local legislation customer requirements and operational needs.
Collaborates with operational teams to facilitate pre-project risk assessments.
Promote a culture of care proactive risk management and continuous improvement by building strong relationships with operational teams.
Serve as a technical expert on HSSE matters across several projects or locations. Provide trusted advice and hands-on support on functional activities such as HSSE risk management management of change and project documentation.
Facilitate a psychological safe environment that supports reporting of HSSE challenges experiences and events.
Report on HSSE metrics relevant to assigned projects or locations. Use data and feedback to identify strengths gaps and areas where support is needed.
The HSSE & Q Advisor will work closely with Business Line Managers to ensure efficient coordination and implementation of the Company Management System across all areas of the business. They will liaise with HSSE Managers in other Business Units to optimize the application of the QHSSE System and collaborate with all company staff to support and continuously improve the Management System.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in engineering Environmental Science Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years in HSSE roles with at least 2 years in offshore or marine operations preferably in geotechnical geophysical or seismic survey environments.
Proven experience supporting project management teams in high-risk industries (e.g. oil & gas renewables).
Familiarity with vessel operations risk management and international standards is essential.
Strong analytical communication and leadership skills with the ability to work independently in dynamic offshore settings.
Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH. Maritime-Basic STCW and or BOSIET.
