Position Summary:
A global commodity merchanting group is seeking an accounting professional to assist in the management of the worldwide accounting organization and manage the consolidation of the sub/consolidation of Marampa Group. The Senior Controller will be responsible for but not limited to establishing the accurate and timely reporting of financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting analysing verifying and reporting financial information for the Marampa Group.
Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of an accounting team of 3-4 persons in Dubai that includes cost controller and Accountants.
- Supervision of the day-to-day booking activities in general ledger including but not limited to sales SG&A expenses cash A/R A/P and other accruals.
- Approves and authorizes the transaction and payment following the process of the SOP from the Marampa Group.
- Prepares year end consolidated financial statements and manages the audit process with the auditors and coordination with the other Gerald offices within the world.
- Good coordination with the other departments like Tax Legal and Traffic is needed to make sure that the transactions and the flow of information follow the proper structure in an efficient way.
- Maintains the financial records of Marampa Consolidation that includes marine logistics and the trading of Iron ore.
- Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures in conjunction with the Project team in MML.
- Managing the local compliance and filings in Dubai as per DMCC rules including financial statements local tax / VAT returns and other required reporting.
- Coordination with the US Management and the Head of Tax for implementation of new structure.
- Assists in the development and implementation of new IT systems/the MS Dynamics.
Experience & Skills:
- Masters degree in finance & accounting or equivalent qualification.
- Any diploma in controlling and data analytics is an advantage.
- Experience in Accounting & Finance in UAE for at least 7 - 10 years.
- Good knowledge in General Ledger systems and any ERP with a preference to MS Dynamics.
- Working knowledge of all MS tools such as Excel Word and Outlook.
