PURPOSE OF JOB:
Reporting to the Manager AML TM Quality Checks the main responsibilities of this role is to support the AML transaction monitoring team to ensure that efforts are made to align the related policies and procedures with regulatory requirements and applicable laws and regulations.
JOB CONTEXT/DIMENSIONS
The Specialist AML TM QC must be able to build and maintain productive business relationships with business stakeholders across the different lines of business and the ability to work cross-functionally across the different lines of business to effectively deliver the role purpose.
TASKS :
- Perform independent review on closed alerts -Quality checks for AML TM team.
- Knowledge of AML transaction Monitoring procedures and TAT.
- Perform review on work undertaken by AML Monitoring team of Group Operations.
- Assist business stakeholders to identify and analyse business risks.
- Maintain and build effective relationships with the related divisions so that effective escalation of issues is achieved and risk managed.
- Assist the Manager AML TM Quality Checks in providing timely and accurate Compliance advice on any AML monitoring matters raised by the business functions on day-to-day operations or on any critical regulatory obligations to ensure continued expertise is provided to the business functions.
- Maintain adequate record-keeping /MI and evidences pertaining to AML QC etc.
- Keep abreast of related rules regulations and best practices pertaining to AML assess its impact on FAB.
- Monitor the performance of the AML Transaction Monitoring Team on a continuous basis taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
- Develop methods for team effectiveness; question and investigate the reliability and integrity of data the validity of conclusions and the appropriateness of assumptions made.
- Provide operational expertise to internal working groups teams and committees focused on enhancing current procedures and creating efficiencies
- Execute other duties as directed by the Manager AML TM Quality Checks

Qualifications :
JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree or Higher in Management Banking or Finance preferably with certification in compliance AML risk management or internal audit.
- At least 5 years of banking experience preferably 3-4 years in Compliance and/or Audit in Banks
- Excellent understanding of regional laws and applicable international regulations
- Excellent Knowledge of the AML/CTF applied on different business banking functions.
- Strong interpersonal people management and facilitation skills
- Team player able to meet tight deadlines and manage challenging workload
- Preferable bilingual Fluent in English and Arabic with strong written and verbal skills
- Focused on driving tasks to completion with pace whilst retaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Discrete and has sense for integrity and handles highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
