Job Description
A Fire Fighting Technicians job in a fire fighting company involves installing maintaining and repairing fire alarm and firefighting systems ensuring they function correctly to protect lives and property. This role includes conducting inspections responding to emergencies and providing training on fire safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance:
Installing and commissioning fire alarm systems including control panels detectors and associated equipment as well as installing and maintaining firefighting systems like sprinklers pumps and extinguishers.
Inspections and Testing:
Conducting regular inspections and testing of fire safety equipment including fire extinguishers emergency lights and fire suppression systems.
Troubleshooting and Repair:
Responding to emergency calls troubleshooting and repairing fire alarm and firefighting systems.
Training and Documentation:
Providing training to building occupants on fire safety procedures and maintaining accurate records of all inspections and maintenance work.
Compliance and Coordination:
Ensuring all systems meet relevant safety codes and regulations and coordinating with other team members vendors and clients on fire safety projects and emergency responses.
System Upgrades:
Recommending upgrades to existing fire alarm and firefighting systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with current standards.
