You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Engineer to join our network infrastructure team. The Fiber Engineer will be responsible for the design planning implementation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. This role involves both office-based planning and field-based execution to ensure the optimal performance of the fiber infrastructure.

Design and develop fiber optic network infrastructure (FTTx FTTH Backbone).
Create detailed engineering plans drawings and documentation for new and existing fiber deployments.
Conduct site surveys feasibility studies and right-of-way assessments.
Manage fiber splicing termination and testing activities.
Oversee installation crews ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
Collaborate with project managers contractors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of fiber projects.
Utilize GIS AutoCAD and other software tools for planning and mapping.
Troubleshoot and resolve fiber network issues to maintain optimal service levels.
Maintain accurate records of fiber network assets and changes.
Support maintenance and expansion of active and passive fiber network components.
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Telecommunications Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
2 years of experience in fiber network design deployment or maintenance.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of fiber optic systems including OSP (Outside Plant) and ISP (Inside Plant) infrastructure.
Proficiency in GIS tools AutoCAD and fiber management software.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ITU TIA/EIA and IEEE.
Experience with OTDR power meters and splicing equipment.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and project coordination abilities.
Ability to work independently and in team environments.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Certifications such as FOA CFOT BICSI or equivalent.
Experience with permitting and regulatory compliance.
Knowledge of networking basics (IP Routing Switching) is a plus.
