- Demonstrate leadership and commitment to Health Safety and Environment. Actively encourage and lead the KVI and contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSE requirements
- Liaise with KVI corporate HSE
- Develop maintain and implement the Site Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System line with company and external certification requirements
- Update the HSE documentation during all the project phases when deemed necessary
- Monitor compliance with legal requirements
- Intervene in a strong and persuasive manner in HSE matters on site and ensures HSE standards are adhered to on site by all.
- Advise and support all HSE matters at all levels within the site organization
- Develop and apply hazard identification and risk assessment to reduce the risks to ALARP
- Ensure that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirement and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS
- Support Site Manager on the correct implementation of the Permit to Work system
- Act as the main point of contact between the regulatory authorities and the project on HSE issues
- Undertake incident investigation and reporting
- Undertake internal inspections and audits of HSE standards on site and the work practices employed
- Organize and participates to HSE meetings
- Liaise with other HSE professionals (both internal and external) in order to achieve a positive HSE culture
- Assist in emergency response at site
- Ensure medical examinations (i.e. drug and alcohol testing etc.) of all staff is carried out as appropriate on site
- Ensure that a professional and competent team of Site HSE Advisors is in place
- Undertake site HSE inductions and provides regular HSE training / information for new employees
- Ensure the HSE content of training provided by the Company is up to date relevant and high quality
- Monitor regularly the HSE performance through dedicated KPIs and send monthly reports
- Establish lessons learned for current and future projects
- Record information into company database system (PIRS) and keep records up to date
- Support on HSE qualification assessment of suppliers
Qualifications :
- Degree in Health Safety Environment or Engineering or an internationally recognized HSE qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent)
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience at site as HSE leader for Construction / Commissioning with experience in large international projects
- Familiar with international HSE regulations and best international practices.
- Previous experience in the Middle East would be preferred
- Familiar with UAE regulations will be a plus
- Sound knowledge of Management systems (ISOSCC)
- Certification as an ISO 14001 and 45001 auditor would be a plus
- Good knowledge of MS Office.
