Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

1. Project Management Expertise

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Expertise in creating detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring all stakeholders align on the project's scope and objectives.
  • Budget Management: Ensuring that capital projects stay within budget, controlling costs, and finding cost-saving opportunities.
  • Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to avoid delays, cost overruns, and quality issues.
  • Contract Management: Negotiating, drafting, and managing contracts with contractors, suppliers, and other service providers.

2. Technical Knowledge

  • Construction Knowledge: Understanding of the construction process, including design, procurement, construction methods, and quality assurance.
  • Engineering Knowledge: A good grasp of engineering principles (civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural) to understand the technical aspects of capital projects.
  • Procurement Processes: Knowledge of procurement strategies, including the selection and management of contractors and suppliers.

3. Financial Acumen

  • Cost Estimation: Providing accurate cost estimates for various project phases and components, ensuring financial feasibility.
  • Capital Budgeting: Evaluating the financial implications of a capital project and ensuring alignment with the organization’s financial goals.
  • ROI and Financial Analysis: Analyzing the return on investment (ROI) and helping clients justify capital expenditure through financial modeling and analysis.

4. Stakeholder and Client Management

  • Client Relations: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring their goals are met and expectations are managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Ensuring clear and consistent communication between all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulators, and the public (if applicable).
  • Expectation Management: Managing stakeholder expectations regarding project scope, timeline, costs, and deliverables.

5. Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge

  • Building Codes and Standards: Understanding of local and international building codes, construction standards, and environmental regulations that affect capital projects.
  • Permits and Approvals: Experience in obtaining necessary permits, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and liaising with regulatory authorities.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance: Ensuring that capital projects adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards, minimizing risk to workers and the public.

6. Strategic Planning and Advisory

  • Feasibility Studies: Conducting feasibility studies to assess whether a capital project is viable, considering both financial and operational factors.
  • Value Engineering: Identifying ways to improve the value of a project by optimizing costs, materials, and design without compromising quality or functionality.
  • Business Case Development: Helping clients develop strong business cases for capital expenditure, aligning projects with long-term business goals.

7. Leadership and Team Management

  • Team Coordination: Leading multidisciplinary teams (designers, engineers, contractors, etc.) to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Conflict Resolution: Managing conflicts that may arise during the project, whether within the project team or between contractors and clients.
  • Vendor and Supplier Management: Overseeing procurement processes and managing relationships with third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers.

Desired candidate profile

As an expert in Capital Project Services, you will be responsible for making key decisions and providing solutions to problems for your immediate team and across multiple teams. Your expertise will contribute to the success of our projects and help us achieve our goals : - Collaborate with multiple teams to optimize the return and outcomes of Capital Projects - Manage and oversee the entire lifecycle of assets to maximize their value - Provide end-to-end service for investors, developers, and operators - Contribute to the development and implementation of processes, systems, and methodologies for portfolio management

Preferred skills & experience : - Expert proficiency in Capital Project Services

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in relevant related skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Project Management
  • Intermediate proficiency in Financial Analysis
  • Beginner proficiency in Risk Assessment
