Job Description
The Design Manager will act as the key day to day client interface ensuring that client objectives are met from a design management perspective.
We are looking for an enthusiastic selfmotivated individual who have excellent written and verbal communication skills and who wants to make a difference to the Design Management team.
Key responsibilities
- Monitoring preparation of specifications and commenting on same.
- Chairing and preparation of Design and Design Coordination Meetings including preparation and distribution of minutes and Design Action Register whilst ensuring Design Team respond to meet programme requirements.
- The design team with respect to Safety in Design and timely preparation of Design Risk Assessments.
- Working with the designers and supervision consultant to agree the standards required with respect to mockups.
- Initial response to Contractor Notices requesting additional supporting information as appropriate prior to the Design Team and Supervision Consultants responses to Contractor Notices including review and challenge prior to preparing draft Determination for submission to Employer.
- The performance of the supervision consultant and design guardians with respect to quality and timeliness of responding to contractor submittals.
- Mitigating monitoring and reporting on design risks throughout project including status of Authority Approvals
Qualifications :
- Degree in architecture engineering construction management or an equivalent technical qualification
- Hospitality Residential Leisure or large scale mixed used development experience is desired
