INSTRUMENTATION DRAFTSMAN

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Instrumentation Draftsman to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings and documents for instrumentation systems across various Oil & Gas projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Create and modify detailed drawings including Instrumentation Layouts Loop Diagrams P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) wiring diagrams and other technical drawings using AutoCAD or other drafting software.
• Interpret engineering sketches specifications and markups from engineers to develop clear and precise drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards company guidelines and project requirements.
• Collaborate closely with engineers designers and project managers to clarify drawing details and resolve design issues.
• Revise drawings based on feedback and markups from stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain organized documentation of all drawings and revisions adhering to document control procedures.
• Assist in preparing material takeoffs and bill of materials (BOM) to support procurement activities.
• Support in technical reviews inspections and audits as required during various project phases.
• Adhere to company procedures quality standards and safety regulations throughout the drafting process.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma or Associates degree in Drafting Engineering Technology or related field.
• Proven experience of 5 years as a Draftsman preferably in an Engineering Consultancy within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software; familiarity with 3D modeling software is a plus.
• Strong understanding of technical drawing standards symbols and conventions used in instrumentation design.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings sketches and specifications accurately.
• Detailoriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of industryspecific standards and codes (e.g. ISA ASME ANSI) relevant to instrumentation design (Preferred).
• Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) or similar software for creating instrumentation drawings (Preferred).
• Prior experience working on EPC projects involving instrumentation design and drafting (Preferred).
• Familiarity with procurement processes and procedures related to instrumentation materials (Preferred).
