Our company is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Permanent Underwriting Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to contribute to our company's growth and success. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our underwriting team, assisting in the evaluation and processing of insurance policies, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. This position will also involve liaising with various stakeholders, including agents, brokers, and clients, to provide excellent customer service and maintain strong professional relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the underwriting team, including data entry, document preparation, and file management.
- Assist in the evaluation and processing of insurance policies, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Liaise with agents, brokers, and clients to provide excellent customer service and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Conduct thorough research to gather and analyze data related to risk assessment.
- Collaborate with the underwriting team to develop and implement strategies for risk management and loss prevention.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for senior management.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience as an Underwriting Assistant, Administrative Assistant, or in a similar role within the insurance industry.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on data.
- A thorough understanding of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
- A degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
