- Ensures the smooth running of operations daily and in a proactive manner
- Ensures that in accordance with Golden Sands Health and Safety Policy, fire exits are free of obstructions
- Support and assist all reception departments
- Ensures that all guests receive prompt attention, affection and personal acknowledgment and resolves related problems
- Inform and coordinate with other departments concerned with reception issues such as home services, engineering, sales, and maids
- Check all correspondence regarding the day’s arrivals to identify the arriving and arriving guests and their needs, and follow up as needed.
- Follow up on any discrepancies in the rooms with home services
- Maintain booking procedures for same day arrival
- Maintain appropriate standards of behaviour, uniform, cleanliness, appearance and attitude of all reception staff
- Check the cleanliness of the lobby, public areas and lights as well as the appearance and behavior of the reception staff in a correct and orderly manner
- Ensures accuracy and updating of all administrative information
- Understand and carry out tasks in accordance with the hotel's emergency procedures
- Check guest rooms daily
- Respond quickly to any operational requests from the reception department and other departments in the hotel
- Dealing with problem situations that were referred but not resolved
- Complete welcomes and farewells for VIP clients, delegations and group leaders as required
- Conduct an effective handover with the incoming manager/supervisor
