This position is based out of Grande Prairie, AB and operates on a 14 day on 7 day off schedule.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Build and arm perforating strings (inspection and verification of gun related equipment);
- Drives company pickups that may be pulling trailers according to the rules and regulations of governing transportation guidelines and policy and procedures;
- Under direct supervision, the Wireline Operator will be involved in the preparation of the unit and calibration of equipment;
- Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor safely, efficiently according to established standards, policies and guidelines;
- Rig up and rig down wireline equipment and pressure control equipment;
- Under direct supervision, the Wireline Operator will redresses tools in the shop and in the field;
- Assists the supervisor in the troubleshooting of too, equipment and truck problems;
- Cleans and maintains company vehicles, tools and equipment;
- Other duties as assigned by the reporting Manager.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Some Wireline training (an asset);
- Explosives Safety (preferred);
- Basic Electronic knowledge;
- Willingness to learn and grow;
- Ability to read and comprehend simple oral and written English instructions and effectively communicate information to others;
- Basic math skills (additions, subtraction, multiplication and division);
- Ability to think quickly and apply problem solving skills to situations as they come up in the field;
- Ability to work in a positive team environment;
- Ability to work with hand and power tools;
- Mechanical aptitude;
- Ability to operate independently;
- Ability to champion a company safety culture.
Work Conditions:
- Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain);
- Frequent lifting, pushing and pulling (70 pounds);
- Frequent bending, twisting and standing;
- Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather;
- Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week;
- Exposure to high noise over 85 dba;
- Working with explosives.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 5 license (a must)
- Results from a pre-employment test;
- 5 years drivers abstract;
- Ability to travel;
