Key Responsibilities & Authorities
- Able to read assembly drawings and interpret welding symbols.
- Operates machine such as welding, drilling, etc.
- Maintain the machines as and when required.
- Keeps the machines and workshop area clean and tidy.
- Lays out, positions and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications
- Installs or repairs equipment. Observes tests on welded surfaces
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations
- Inspects grooves, angles or gap allowances
- Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry and welding techniques
- Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts
- Carries out any other related Jobs as and when required by the Supervisor and/or HOD
