Quality Assurance Manager

This position will report to the Vice President of
Key Responsibilities:
Promote and lead quality achievements and performance improvements throughout the organization
Maintain ISO9001 and ISO14001 management systems
Define, develop, deploy, and optimize product quality assurance strategy, addressing all phases of
product development cycle
Manage quality staff of engineers and technicians to ensure all aspects of quality system and functions are
carried out
Assess the product specifications of the company and its suppliers, comparing with customer
requirements
Drive sustainable KPI improvements with PDCA methodology, specifically, safety, quality, delivery, and
cost
Establish standards and clearly defined quality methodology for quality team members in conjunction
with operations staff
Partner with management to ensure sufficient training and coaching resources are available
Develop project business cases, scope statements and charters along with identification of measures of
success for all initiated projects
Perform process capability studies and process qualification/validation
Utilization of various Operational Excellence methods and tools including but not limited to:
ProcessImprovement/ProcessMapping,QualityImprovementeffort Lean/SixSigmaProjectsleveragingtheDMAICprinciples
KaizenEvents
5S Visual Management Activities
RootCauseanalysis(Ishikawa/FMEA/FaultTree) ChangeManagementpractices
Overall Requirements:
BS degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role
Lean, Six Sigma or ASQ certification preferred
Exceptional mechanical aptitude
Proven technical report writing skills
Ability to apply appropriate use of statistical techniques
Ability to influence direction and output of team strategies
Fluent in Microsoft Office, Mini-Tab or QI Macros applications
Familiarization with CMM, Vision systems, Comparators, and various quality hand tools
Attitude that fosters teamwork, positive thinking, flexibility, and continuous improvement
Able to use judgment and independent thinking in the resolution of issues and in interpretation of data and
ideas
Excellent organization skills, initiative, and accountability
