Our client is a real estate and property developer having decades of expertise working in real estate and infrastructure projects in Europe Asia the USA and the Middle East. They are recruiting an Executive Development Director at COO level to report to the CEO.
Job Summary: Heading up the Department responsible for the technical aspects of the Planning and Design development of the built environment including infrastructure.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Formulate and lead the implementation of the Project Design and Development strategies in line with the CEOs Vision mission and corporate objectives.
- Develop with guidance from the CEO/Managing Partner and in coordination with the management team an integrated design plan.
- Establish and maintain an effective system of communications throughout the department to ensure that the responsibilities authorities and accountabilities of all executives are clearly defined and understood.
- Set departments & highlevel goals KPI s objectives and plans and work with the team on attaining such goals by giving direction and closely monitoring their operations.
- Conduct a strategic review of performance on a regular basis to determine whether the Project and Development department is meeting its shortand longterm objectives.
- Provide guidance to direct reports managers and officers to prepare various section activities in order to generate / update effective processes and procedures.
- Approve the established procedures and processes to ensure all projects are delivered on time and on budget.
- Ensure timely completion of the planning and design elements within the established budget schedule and required investment returns.
- Ensure qualified professional services are procured and managed to ensure compliance with the project design criteria.
- Promote the company s direction and momentum its business performance and positive external impact.
- Prepare periodic reports for the CEO/Managing Partner outlining current and planned department activities and report any issues or bottlenecks.
- Ensure all changes in processes and procedures are communicated to the process owners and employees.
- Responsible to impart training to all process owners and concerned for any changes in system configuration.
- Provide approvals / sign offs (as per the delegation of authority) for the day to day activities executed by the team members based on alignment with the approved plans.
- Recruit and manage staff. Ensure the physical welfare wellbeing employee motivation and professional development of staff.
- Coach and mentor all team members especially direct reporters for performance and achieving targets. Work closely with them during the various stages of performance cycle (goal setting performance evaluations etc.).
- Monitor the adherence of employees to guidelines policies and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the CEO/Managing Partner or as per business requirements company and represent the company with major customers government entities.
- Manage internal staff in the department.
- Aid in the recruitment of suitable personnel.
- Manage external service providers and consultants. Advise internal staff with regards to operational matters.
- Liaise with internal departments on operational matters.
- Liaise with the relevant Government Authorities regarding infrastructure and utilities.
- Produce the technical scope requirements for RFPs.
- Advise on strategy with regards to procurement of service providers and consultants working on operational matters.
- Manage external specialist service providers and contractors interfacing in a client role. This involves also interfacing with internal departments such as sales and marketing commercial and legal regarding operational aspects.
Key Requirements:
- Experience in Mega projects/mixed used developments/residential/hospitality/education of not less than 3 Billion with a Developer is essential.
- Project development experience in GCC and international experience will be suitable
