Summary
The Uniform Attendant is responsible for the cleaning maintenance distribution and collection of uniforms for hotel staff. This role involves ensuring that all uniforms are cleaned pressed stored and returned in a timely manner maintaining the professional appearance of the hotel staff and contributing to overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Sort wash dry and press hotel uniforms including housekeeping front desk food & beverage and other staff uniforms.
- Handle different types of fabrics and materials according to proper cleaning instructions.
- Inspect uniforms for any damage or wear and report issues to management for repair or replacement.
- Ensure that uniforms are returned to staff in clean and good condition.
- Distribute clean uniforms to hotel associates as per their department or position ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Collect dirty uniforms from employees on a scheduled basis and transport them to the laundry or designated storage area.
- Ensure that uniform requests are processed accurately and efficiently especially for new employees or replacements.
- Maintain a system to track the number of uniforms issued to employees including regular inventory updates.
- Ensure that uniforms are properly sized and exchanged as needed for associates.
- Track uniforms that are assigned to specific employees and ensure their return when staff members leave or change roles.
- Ensure that clean uniforms are properly stored and organized for easy access and distribution.
- Follow health and safety procedures when handling and washing uniforms including the proper use of laundry chemicals and detergents.
- Assist with the sorting and cleaning of other hotel linen items such as towels or bed sheets when required.
- Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management to support the effective operation of the department and the broader goals of the property.
Qualifications :
Experience/Certificates/Education
- Previous experience in uniform handling laundry or hospitality industry (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of laundry equipment operation and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry moderate to heavy loads.
- Stamina to be on your feet for extended periods.
- Flexibility to bend stoop and reach
