We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced HSE (Health Safety & Environment) Engineer to join our team in Western Region Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of employees maintaining compliance with local and international HSE
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of proven experience as an HSE Engineer with strong exposure to oil & gas and civil construction projects.
- Holder of 3rd Party Certified Accident/Incident Investigation Certificate.
- Professional certifications preferred: NEBOSH IGC CSP OSHA or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws ADNOC codes of practice and international HSE standards (ISO 14001 ISO 45001 OHSAS 18001) mandatory
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting HSE training risk assessments and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and report-writing skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop implement and monitor HSE policies procedures and guidelines in line with UAE laws and international standards.
- Conduct regular safety inspections risk assessments and audits across oil & gas and construction projects.
- Provide HSE training inductions and awareness programs for staff contractors and project teams.
- Investigate accidents incidents and near-misses in compliance with regulatory requirements; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Maintain and update accurate HSE documentation logs and reports for management and regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate closely with project managers engineers and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance on all worksites.
- Liaise with government authorities and third-party auditors on safety and compliance matters.
- Conduct emergency preparedness drills and develop site-specific emergency response plans.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest industry standards oil & gas HSE regulations and best practices.
- Promote and embed a proactive culture of safety accountability and compliance within the organization.
