We are looking for an experienced Cost Manager with a pre-contract bias to support our exciting growth plans working with our key clients. The Cost Manager will support the successful delivery of our clients capital projects and programmes of work.
The Cost Manager will be joining an established team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and growth. The Cost Manager will provide a comprehensive accurate and value-driven service for large high-profile and exciting key clients.
The role will cover all aspects of cost management throughout the whole project lifecycle from initial inception / business case through to completion. The role also provides the opportunity to support the growth of the business and the development of team members.
Duties include (but not limited to):
- Deliver all aspects of cost management from the early stages of a project.
- Drive performance standards and technical excellence through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process and EGIS Group technical practice networks.
- Implement strategies to manage and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare detailed cost forecasts and budget reports analyzing variances and identifying trends to support financial decision-making.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to estimate project costs including external sub consultancy services and overheads.
- Implement cost control measures and monitor project expenditures addressing any issues that could lead to budget overruns.
- Review and approve invoices and claims from external and internal suppliers ensuring all charges are accurate and justified.
- Experience of undertaking cost/commercial management as part of integrated multi-organisation collaborative teams is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts and familiarity with project management processes.
- Conduct post-project financial audits to assess cost management performance and identify lessons learned for future projects.
Qualifications :
- Education: A degree in accounting finance engineering or a related field is often required.
- Experience: 8 years of experience in cost and commercial management in the real estate sector preferably with leading international consultancy firms. Experience in the Middle East is an advantage.
- Skills: Strong analytical and negotiation skills. Proficiency in financial management and market analysis.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage and lead teams effectively
