Position Summary

As a key member of the EMEA Development team the Director International Hotel Development North Africa Egypt will lead efforts to expand Marriotts brand presence in North Africa with a particular focus on Egypt. This strategic role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and finalizing contracts for new hotels. The Director will play a central role in driving shareholder value through proactive deal-making and relationship-building with owners developers and local authorities.

Success in this role requires a passion for hospitality development a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Scope

  • Location: Dubai UAE
  • Language Requirements: Fluent in English and Arabic
  • Travel: Frequent travel within North Africa and the broader Middle East region

Key Responsibilities

Development Strategy & Execution

  • Identify initiate and assess branding opportunities with owners investors developers and local authorities.
  • Review and analyze hotel conversion and new build opportunities for integration into Marriotts brand portfolio.
  • Lead negotiations of management franchise and other agreements with owners and their representatives.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential owners capital providers partners and local authorities.
  • Represent Marriott at hospitality events and maintain a high industry profile in the region.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate internal development processes including site inspections feasibility studies valuations and legal negotiations.
  • Present opportunities for approval to Marriotts internal committees.

Support & Advisory

  • Assist stakeholders in identifying financing sources for hotel acquisition or construction.
  • Provide strategic input to enhance Marriotts growth in North Africa and EMEA.

Candidate Profile

Education & Experience

  • University degree in Real Estate Hotel Administration Business Administration or similar (advanced degree preferred).
  • Experience in real estate or hotel industries in hotel advisory/development.
  • Experience with franchised and managed hotel transactions in the Middle East.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of the Middle East & North Africa region.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and resources efficiently.
  • Energetic proactive and team-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work flexibly.
  • Professional demeanor with confident independent judgment.
