Job Description

The Division of Arts and Humanities at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for Adjunct Instructor positions in Music Performance. Responsibilities may include instructing group performance classes (beginner and intermediate) individual lessons and/or ensembles. The typical time commitment is between 2.5 and 8 hours of classroom time per week.

Applicant specializations may include but are not limited to: Woodwinds Brass Instruments Orchestral Strings Piano Guitar/Bass Guitar Percussion Drum Set Voice and Instruments of Arab musical traditions (including Oud Qanun Nay Violin and Voice).

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • UAE citizen or UAE residence visa holder.
  • Eligible for an NOC letter from current employer/sponsor (if applicable) permitting the candidate to teach at NYUAD.
  • An accomplished professional performer.
  • Experience as a teacher at multiple levels of student development.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Music required; Masters or Doctoral degree preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent at instructing a diverse population of students
