Job Description

ITP Media Group reaches an audience of more than 104.6 million people across the Middle East and beyond through its leading websites, portals, social media platforms, events, conferences, award ceremonies, magazines, books and social media influencers agency.

Time Out GCC is looking for a talented, energetic and astutely organised Managing Editor with multi-platform experience to oversee processes and content across digital and print platforms on Time Out DXB, Time Out Kids and Time Out Doha. You must be ultra-organised and deadline orientated. Attention to detail, product management and subbing skills are essential, as is experience managing and motivating a team in a demanding, fast-paced environment. This role is a full-time freelance position to cover six months maternity leave and is based in ITP Media Group’s Media City office in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall production process of Time Out DXB, Time Out Kids and Time Out Doha – supporting the Editors of these brands in sending print products to press, as well as proof reading and contributing to digital content.
  • Plan, write, commission, edit and proof content for Time Out DXB, overseeing flatplanning and leading product press days, and making sure content is executed in line with Time Out brand guidelines.
  • Ensure print products are published in the agreed formats and to the agreed timelines.
  • Ensure daily digital content is published in the agreed formats and to the agreed timelines.
  • Ensure daily social content is published in the agreed formats and to the agreed timelines.
  • Ensure newsletters are published in the agreed formats and to the agreed timelines.
  • Oversee the editorial calendars of Time Out DXB, Time Out Kids and Time Out Doha. Ensuring they are current, identifying commercial and audience opportunities within, and communicating them to other teams.
  • Manage and motivate an editorial team, collaborate with other Editors in the Group and maintain a strong working relationship with the commercial team.
  • Work with Editorial Director and Design Lead to set group production deadlines and schedules for print products, and make sure all required media sheets / kits are shared with the commercial team.
  • Work with the Editorial Director and brand Editors to ensure ALL content reflects Time Out’s overall editorial strategy and meets brand guidelines.
  • Work with internal and/or external writers, producers, designers, photographers, videographers, illustrators, product managers, etc. to ensure content is live on deadline and on budget.
  • Assisting with events for Time Out titles where necessary.

  • Software: Adobe InDesign (essential); Wordpress (desirable).
  • Education: Must be educated to degree level or equivalent industry qualification.
  • Currently on a sponsored visa
