Our Client is Government entity looking for Transportation Supervisor (Operator – Central Control System) based in Dubai. Contract : 8 months JOB PURPOSE To oversee and supervise the operation of all bus routes and their drivers, and all contractors within the scope of the Operations Control Centre, to ensure compliance with bus operation standards, including aspects of safety and security. Shift working is required to cover the operating day. KEY RACCOUNTABILITIES .
Monitor the bus routes assigned to ensure that journeys are operated reliably at all times, with particular regard to adherence to the scheduled times at all stops. .
Receive calls from drivers requiring assistance and advise on the appropriate actions to take especially in the event of an accident or a reported incident from a driver. Where necessary alert the Supervisor to confirm proposed action or to report action taken. .
Ask suitable questions of drivers to ensure that any disruption to service is unavoidable, particularly where lost Kms may be incurred. .
Advise drivers on the corrective action to take when faced with early or late arrivals, using the AVM communication protocol. .
Communicate with Supervisors, as necessary, when their assigned routes face operational obstacles or difficulties in order to inform and seek advice on solutions. .
Deal with system or bus equipment faults or bus breakdowns by taking immediate action so as to ensure minimal disruption to services, reporting to the Duty Supervisor as necessary. .
Ensure all corrective actions are recorded in the AVM system for future review. .
Ensure timely submission of a Daily Operations Report, for the previous day, including the achievements on the following KPIs, to enable the OCC Supervisor and Depot Managers to take appropriate action. .
In the event of a breakdown on the Metro requiring support from the Buses Department OCC Controllers should identify and inform drivers to operate the assigned routes (as previously determined) under the instruction of the Supervisor. .
The Controllers should support the shift Supervisor to measure, on a daily basis, the impact of corrective actions being taken by Depot Managers on the KPIs REQUIREMENTS: .
Bachelors or Diploma .
3-4 years of relevant working experience in busses and transportation .
Computer Proficiency .
Good listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing .
Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues. .
Fluent in English reading, writing and speaking. Arabic will be an advantage. CRITICAL COMPETENCIES .
