Roles and responsibilities
Responsible for the conscientious testing of vehicles in accordance with the working procedures laid down and government entities parameters.
Job Accountabililities
Manage the entire service centre workforce and guide them to provide service as per the quality standards.
Improves the quality of customer service in the workshop & maintains effective control of expenses in line with the budget objectives.
Coordinates with principal on technical problems, service issues & also with the service manager to obtain warranty approvals .
Evaluate the technician’s performance on a periodic basis and provide coaching if necessary
Prepares the annual Training Plan and ensures its implementation.
Ensures the maintenance and calibration of equipment, special tools & promotes ways of working safely in the Service Center with regular review of safety equipment.
Provide support to business excellence department for Internal/External audits.
Submit monthly report on the Service Centre activities to the management team.
Qualification and Education
Preferably an Engineering Degree in Automotive/Mechanical or equivalent
Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience with workshops & government entities, dealing with commercial heavy vehicles and electrical vehicles, with 5 years at managerial level.
Experience in handling 100+ service workforce for more than 5 years.
Knowledge & Skills
Fluent in English; working knowledge of Hindi/Urdu; Arabic an advantage.
Candidates with UAE Driving license preferred

3. Project and Time Management
- Work Scheduling: Managing and scheduling daily tasks, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Resource Allocation: Ensuring that materials, tools, and equipment are available for the team to carry out their tasks effectively.
- Prioritization: Ability to prioritize urgent tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.
4. Health and Safety Management
- Safety Standards: Ensuring that all safety protocols and standards are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks in the workshop, including accidents or hazards.
- Compliance: Knowledge of industry regulations and ensuring that the workshop complies with all legal requirements and safety regulations.
5. Budgeting and Cost Control
- Financial Management: Overseeing the workshop’s budget, managing costs related to materials, labor, and equipment maintenance.
- Cost Optimization: Identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising on quality or safety.
- Inventory Management: Managing inventory and ensuring efficient use of resources to avoid waste and delays.
6. Communication Skills
- Clear Communication: Communicating effectively with the team, management, and customers (if applicable) to ensure expectations are clear and projects are completed successfully.
- Reporting: Providing regular reports on workshop performance, safety issues, and project status to senior management.
- Customer Service: If the workshop deals with external clients, providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
