Roles and responsibilities
- Site Management: Oversee and manage daily construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
- Coordination: Act as a liaison between WSP, clients, consultants, and contractors to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve any issues that arise.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor construction processes and materials to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed records of construction progress, changes, and any site issues. Ensure accurate and timely reporting to senior management.
- Approval Management: Ensure that all necessary approvals and permits are obtained and maintained in compliance with Abu Dhabi regulations.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any technical or logistical issues related to underground utilities and infrastructure to minimize project delays.
- Compliance: Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with local regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects, with a focus on underground utilities and related systems.
- Local Knowledge: Proven experience working with consultants and regulatory bodies in Abu Dhabi, with a comprehensive understanding of local standards and requirements.
- Approvals: Valid approvals and certifications to work on infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical background in infrastructure and underground utility systems, with proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex technical and logistical challenges.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications are a plus.

. Site Supervision and Management
- Daily Site Oversight: Supervising and monitoring construction activities on-site to ensure they align with project specifications, design drawings, and quality standards. This includes overseeing work processes, materials usage, and adherence to timelines.
- Quality Control: Conducting regular inspections of construction work to ensure that all tasks are completed according to the required standards of quality. This may involve inspecting materials, workmanship, and the proper use of construction techniques.
- Safety Compliance: Enforcing safety regulations on-site to ensure the safety of all personnel and workers. Ensuring that all safety protocols are followed, such as wearing protective equipment and implementing hazard mitigation strategies.
- Progress Monitoring: Tracking the progress of construction work and ensuring that the project remains on schedule. Identifying any delays or issues and escalating them to the Resident Engineer or Project Manager.
2. Coordination and Communication
- Liaison Role: Acting as a primary point of contact between the project team (client, contractors, consultants) and the field team. Facilitating communication and resolving issues between different stakeholders.
- Documentation and Reporting: Preparing daily, weekly, or monthly reports on project progress, work completed, site conditions, and any issues or delays encountered. Ensuring that all construction activities are properly documented for future reference.
- Coordination of Subcontractors: Assisting in the coordination of subcontractors and ensuring that their work is carried out efficiently and according to the project plans and specifications.
- Change Management: Identifying and documenting any changes to the scope of work, discussing them with the Resident Engineer, and assisting in implementing change orders as required.
3. Technical Support and Problem-Solving
- Technical Assistance: Providing technical assistance on-site, including clarifying design details, offering solutions to technical challenges, and ensuring that construction methods adhere to the project’s design specifications.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Identifying and addressing any technical issues, discrepancies, or challenges that arise during construction. Collaborating with the engineering team to find practical solutions and prevent delays.
- Verification of Materials: Ensuring that the right materials and products are being used, according to project specifications. This includes checking material deliveries and verifying that they meet required quality standards.
