Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Excellent customer service skills with great enthusiasm, superior interpersonal skills, result oriented and highly self-motivated.

What You Will Bring

  • Knowledge of MICROS preferred.
  • One to two years’ experience working in Food & Beverage preferred.
  • 1. Customer Service

  • Welcoming Guests: Greet guests as they arrive at the lounge, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere.
  • Taking Orders: Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, including special requests or dietary restrictions.
  • Providing Recommendations: Suggest drinks, food items, or specialty cocktails based on the guest’s preferences and the lounge’s menu offerings.
  • Anticipating Needs: Be proactive in anticipating guests' needs, such as offering refills, clearing empty glasses, and ensuring they have everything they need for a pleasant experience.
  • Engaging with Guests: Build rapport with guests by engaging in light conversation and creating a friendly, relaxed environment.
  • 2. Food and Beverage Service

  • Serving Drinks and Food: Serve drinks and food to guests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are maintained.
  • Knowledge of Alcoholic Beverages: Be knowledgeable about the lounge's drink menu, including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, to offer recommendations and answer guests’ questions.
  • Cocktail Preparation: In some lounge settings, servers may assist bartenders with basic cocktail preparation or delivery of drinks to tables.
  • Maintaining Drink Orders: Monitor guests’ drink levels and ensure they are replenished as needed throughout their visit, without the guest having to request it.
  • 3. Lounge Ambiance Management

  • Creating a Comfortable Environment: Help maintain the relaxed and inviting atmosphere of the lounge by ensuring the space is clean, comfortable, and well-stocked.
  • Music and Lighting: Ensure that the lounge’s ambiance (including music, lighting, and temperature) meets the desired setting and is conducive to a relaxing experience for guests.
  • Comfort and Cleanliness: Ensure the seating area is tidy and comfortable, making adjustments to seating arrangements as necessary and maintaining cleanliness throughout the lounge.
  • 4. Multitasking and Time Management

  • Handling Multiple Guests: Serve multiple tables or areas in the lounge simultaneously, ensuring that each guest receives timely attention.
  • Prioritizing Tasks: Balance taking orders, serving food and drinks, clearing tables, and addressing guest needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time Efficiency: Ensure that food and drink orders are delivered quickly and efficiently, especially during busy periods, to maintain high guest satisfaction.
  • 5. Order Accuracy and Communication

  • Taking Accurate Orders: Write down or input food and beverage orders correctly, ensuring that any special requests, such as dietary needs or modifications, are communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
  • Coordination with Kitchen and Bar Staff: Work closely with the kitchen and bartenders to ensure orders are prepared and served promptly and that special instructions are followed.
  • Monitoring Order Status: Follow up on pending orders to ensure timely delivery and check in with guests to confirm their satisfaction with their drinks or meals.
  • 6. Cash Handling and Payment Processing

  • Presenting Checks: Present guests with their check when they are ready to leave, ensuring it is accurate and itemized.
  • Processing Payments: Handle payments using various methods, including cash, credit card, or digital payment systems, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately.
  • Managing Tips: Ensure proper tip distribution and follow the establishment’s guidelines regarding tipping procedures.
