HSE Inspector

A new opportunity has arisen with a wellknown engineering/construction company. Our client is seeking a highly experienced HSE Inspector for the Abu Dhabi location.

We are looking for an experienced and detailoriented HSE Inspector to join our team.

The role focuses on ensuring compliance with health safety and environmental (HSE) standards in operations and maintenance activities particularly within pump stations and wastewater systems. The ideal candidate will have handson experience in construction and rehabilitation works and a proven ability to monitor and enforce HSE protocols effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HSE Monitoring and Inspection:
   

   • Conduct routine HSE inspections at pump stations wastewater facilities and construction/rehabilitation sites.
     
   • Identify and report potential hazards noncompliances and unsafe practices.
     
   • Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety procedures.
     

2. Operations and Maintenance Oversight:
   

   • Monitor HSE practices during routine and emergency maintenance of pump stations and related infrastructure.
     
   • Inspect equipment tools and facilities to confirm compliance with safety and environmental standards.
     

3. Construction and Rehabilitation Works:
   

   • Inspect construction and rehabilitation activities to ensure compliance with HSE plans and standards.
     
   • Review contractor HSE documentation and verify onsite implementation.
     

4. Incident Reporting and Investigation:
   

   • Assist in the investigation of incidents near misses and unsafe conditions.
     
   • Prepare detailed reports including findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
     

5. Regulatory Compliance:
   

   • Ensure operations and projects comply with local and international HSE regulations.
     
   • Maintain accurate records of inspections incidents and safety performance.
     

6. Training and Awareness:
   

   • Participate in safety briefings toolbox talks and HSE training sessions.
     
   • Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness among employees and contractors.
     

7. Environmental Stewardship:
   

   • Monitor wastewater operations for compliance with environmental standards.
     
   • Report any environmental hazards or violations to the relevant authorities.
     

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Background:
  • Diploma or Bachelor s degree in Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Science or a related field.
    
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 plus years of HSE inspection experience in operations and maintenance preferably in wastewater facilities or pump stations.
    
  • Experience in construction and rehabilitation projects.
    
• Certifications:
  • NEBOSH IOSH OSHA or equivalent certifications in HSE.
    
• Skills:
  • Strong observational and analytical skills.
    
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices in wastewater operations and construction.
    
  • Proficient in incident reporting and documentation.
    
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
