Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Assisting anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists in preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies before, during, and after surgical procedures. Duties include setting up anesthesia machines, monitoring equipment functionality, ensuring proper sterilization of tools, assisting with patient positioning, and providing support during the administration of anesthesia. Responsible for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and maintaining detailed records related to anesthesia equipment usage.

An Anesthesia Technician is a healthcare professional who works alongside anesthesiologists and anesthetists to support the administration of anesthesia during medical procedures and surgeries. They play an important role in preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, ensuring that patients are safely sedated, and assisting in the smooth operation of the anesthesia department.

Key Skills for an Anesthesia Technician

  1. Knowledge of Anesthesia Equipment

    • Proficiency in operating and maintaining anesthesia machines, monitors, and other related equipment.
    • Understanding the function and calibration of equipment like ventilators, infusion pumps, and gas delivery systems.
