Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop reports and models we can use for performance tracking and optimization, drawing recommendations from your analysis
  • Build, enhance and streamline reports and dashboards that help team members and internal stakeholders understand the performance of their business and identify action points
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis on business trends and results independently, translate and communicate results to leadership and key stakeholders
  • Provide input on ongoing projects and initiatives to reach business targets; run and assess your proposed actions in collaboration with the relevant teams
  • Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve team performance and measurement in the future
  • Analyze the impact of business initiatives, use data to make recommendations and propose changes
  • Hone your analytical skills in better understanding business and conversion drivers and how to optimize them
  • Prepare and present high quality weekly reports and business insights to leadership
  • Work in a data-driven environment
  • Use out-of-the-box thinking to develop and implement solutions to unique challenges
  • Work and thrive cross-functionally in a dynamic, fast-paced, and challenging environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar quantitative discipline. MBA or other advanced technical degree preferred
  • Strong data skills with advanced knowledge of Excel, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI or similar
  • Analytical mindset, with proven track record in using data to measure performance and make decisions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze and resolve complex problems using data
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent skills in presenting and analyzing data and creating actionable reports (Strong business acumen)
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, with experience implementing innovative ideas or products in complex organizations
  • Strategic thinking and planning, effective at breaking down complex problems and driving and managing change
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to use data to convey complex messages clearly and with conviction to different stakeholders
  • Experience in data analytics, strategy/business insights for a fast-growing globally operating tech company preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

Desired candidate profile

  1. Data Analysis and Interpretation:

    • Strong proficiency in analyzing large and complex data sets to extract valuable insights.
    • Ability to use analytical tools and techniques (e.g., statistical analysis, trend analysis, forecasting) to make data-driven recommendations.
  2. Advanced Excel and Data Manipulation:

    • Expertise in using Excel for data analysis, including advanced functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros.
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create dashboards and reports that effectively communicate insights.
  3. Quantitative and Qualitative Research:

    • Skilled in both quantitative data analysis (e.g., numerical data, surveys, financial reports) and qualitative research (e.g., interviews, focus groups).
    • Ability to combine both types of data to generate a comprehensive understanding of business problems.
  4. Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
    • Ability to approach complex issues with creativity and critical thinking, finding the most effective solutions.
  5. Business and Financial Acumen:

    • Understanding of business operations, financial metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Ability to analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making.
  6. Communication Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex data and analysis in a clear, concise, and actionable format.
    • Ability to create detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  7. Attention to Detail:

    • Ensuring the accuracy of data and analysis, avoiding errors that can lead to incorrect conclusions or decisions.
    • Thoroughness in reviewing and validating data before making recommendations.
  8. Project Management and Organization:

    • Managing multiple projects or tasks simultaneously, often with tight deadlines.
    • Prioritizing tasks based on business needs and ensuring projects are completed on time.
  9. Collaboration and Teamwork:

    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data, share findings, and develop actionable insights.
    • Ability to work effectively with colleagues from various departments, including marketing, operations, finance, and IT.
