Roles and responsibilities
Provides Mechanical engineering leadership and guidance to team in the areas of green field LNG Project Rotating and Static Mechanical Equipment and Package Engineering. Supports the Engineering Management with ensuring robust design is delivered by EPC Contractor according to contract, basis, schedule and budget.
During the Execute phase, manages the review and assurance of the mechanical scope of work of the EPC Contractor. Ensures contractual compliance, safety, and quality is delivered by the EPC Contractor by managing multiple work fronts and stakeholders, coordinating with the EPC Contractor, and ensuring that all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.
- QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 20 years relevant Mechanical Engineering experience in the LNG, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum five (5) years (preferred) in GCC region. Must have at least 3 years of experience in similar position in LNG, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
- Skilled in all aspects of mechanical engineering such as rotating and static equipment (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, filters) and Cryogenic storage and loading packaged equipment (skid mounted or site built packaged equipment that is used for either process or utilities).
- Capable of reviewing equipment requisitions, datasheets, and specifications.
- In-depth knowledge of ADNOC operating assets or similar facilities.
- Experience in ASSESS, SELECT and EXECUTE phase studies including preparation of Scope of Work, Statement of Requirement (SOR) and Design Basis documentation, Detailed engineering and Procurement.
- Strong analytical ability with attention to details and knowledge.
- Awareness of operational integrity processes of Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS).
- Awareness of process safety and hazardous area requirements/implications.

Design and Engineering Oversight:
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Ensure designs meet required specifications, industry standards, and regulatory codes.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., electrical, civil, and structural engineering) to ensure mechanical systems integrate smoothly with other systems.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with safety, operational, and performance standards.

Maintenance and Operations Management:
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure mechanical systems and equipment operate efficiently.
- Supervise the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and mechanical infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and lead efforts to resolve operational challenges.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Develop and manage budgets for mechanical engineering projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost control.
- Procure materials, tools, and equipment required for mechanical systems and projects.
- Optimize resource allocation to ensure that team members have the necessary tools and support to complete tasks efficiently.

- Ensure that all mechanical systems and projects comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the mechanical engineering team, ensuring that all work activities follow established safety protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate safety risks in mechanical system design and operation.
- Ensure that mechanical systems adhere to environmental standards and industry regulations.
