Oversee the design of international real estate projects and ensure building innovative and sustainable design solutions, in alignment with functional and regulatory standards.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Design Real Estate to oversee the technical, strategic, and managerial aspects of our international design projects. This role will involve managing design processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving innovative solutions across a diverse range of projects, including master planning, mixed-use developments, and infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee technical aspects of design projects, including drawings, renderings, and specifications.
- Develop comprehensive land use datasets and incorporate traffic networks, open spaces, and real estate trends.
- Create client design briefs and review RFP scopes with the Real Estate Development team.
- Participate in prequalification, tender evaluation, and contract negotiations.
- Lead design presentations and review submittals from concept to delivery.
- Address technical design challenges during design and construction phases.
- Conduct design audits, review consultant submittals, and recommend changes.
- Liaise with the Sales Department to ensure real estate inventory aligns with AD Ports guidelines.
- Manage design documentation, government permits, and code compliance.
People Management Responsibilities:
- Coordinate across disciplines, including feasibility, architecture, infrastructure, and delivery.
- Support project teams through design reviews, ensuring constructability during execution and commissioning.
Strategic Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term design strategies to achieve organizational goals.
- Identify and evaluate new design opportunities and market trends.
- Present business cases for new initiatives with financial projections and strategic benefits.
- Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international building codes and regulations.
- Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize cost and time.
Desired candidate profile
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Educational and Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Planning, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as LEED AP, NCARB, or similar credentials are an advantage.
Language Skills:
- English & Arabic Fluent (both written and verbal).
- Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
Years of Experience:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar role.
