Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Job Title : Technician -Instrumentation

Location : Fujairah , Dubai

Industry : Manufacturing

Experience: 3- 5 years

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment used in cement production machinery and plants.
  • Conduct routine inspections and tests on electrical components to ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in control systems, motors, conveyors, and other cement plant equipment.
  • Adhere to electrical safety standards and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and electrical system performance to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • 1. Technical Expertise

  • Instrument Calibration: Ability to calibrate and troubleshoot various instrumentation devices, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors.
  • System Installation: Installing, configuring, and setting up control and instrumentation systems.
  • Automation Systems: Knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
  • Electrical and Mechanical Systems: Understanding of electrical circuits and mechanical components that interact with instrumentation systems.
  • 2. Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Skills

  • Fault Detection: Identifying and diagnosing faults in instrumentation, control systems, and devices using diagnostic tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and process analyzers.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyzing complex problems, interpreting system data, and applying appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Investigating recurring system issues and taking corrective actions to prevent future failures.
  • 3. Precision and Attention to Detail

  • Accuracy in Calibration: Ensuring precise calibration of instruments to maintain the accuracy of measurements and control processes.
  • Data Logging: Monitoring, recording, and reviewing system performance, ensuring data is accurate and reliable.
  • Compliance: Ensuring instruments meet regulatory and industry standards for performance and safety.
  • 4. Safety and Compliance Knowledge

  • Industry Standards: Knowledge of industry standards such as ISA (International Society of Automation), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and OSHA regulations.
  • Safety Protocols: Strict adherence to workplace safety practices when working with electrical systems, high-pressure systems, and hazardous materials.
  • Risk Assessment: Identifying and mitigating potential risks in systems and equipment to ensure safe operations.
  • 5. Communication Skills

  • Technical Reporting: Documenting calibration procedures, maintenance logs, repairs, and updates accurately and clearly.
  • Team Collaboration: Working closely with engineers, maintenance staff, and other technicians to ensure systems run efficiently.
  • Client Interaction: Explaining complex technical issues and solutions to clients, vendors, or non-technical personnel.
  • 6. Computer and Software Proficiency

  • Control System Software: Proficiency in using software related to control systems like Honeywell, Yokogawa, or Siemens.
  • Data Analysis: Analyzing data trends and performance metrics using software tools to optimize system operations.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD): Familiarity with CAD software to design and troubleshoot instrumentation layouts or diagrams.
