Roles and responsibilities
The Barista responsibilities include educating customers on the drinks’ menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, taking orders, processing payments and delivering orders to the clients. The role holder will also be responsible for working various shifts and perform cashiering tasks.
ROLE PROFILE
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, conducting regular audits and quality checks as per operational requirements.
- Work within operational procedures to ensure food and beverage preparation processes comply with company and municipality guidelines.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all administrative tasks.
- Receive payments from customers, issue receipts, and reconcile transactions with sales figures.
- Prepare beverages according to set standards and recipes, with a complete and thorough knowledge of all menu items, including coffee.
- Provide positive and professional service to exceed customer expectations.
- Take and process customer orders accurately and promptly, following the sequence of service standards as per brand guidelines.
- Ensure food and beverage quality and consistency meet brand guidelines and company standards.
Requirements
- High school Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- 2 years operational experience in relevant role in Food and Beverage.
- Highly organized with strong multitasking skills.
- Adapt in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent listening abilities.
- English Full professional proficiency - Required.

1. Coffee Knowledge and Expertise
- Espresso Preparation: Proficiency in making espresso shots and using an espresso machine to create coffee-based drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos.
- Grind and Brew Knowledge: Understanding the importance of grind size, brewing time, and water temperature for different coffee beans.
- Milk Frothing: Skills in frothing milk for drinks like cappuccinos, lattes, and macchiatos.
- Understanding Coffee Beans: Knowledge of different types of coffee beans (Arabica, Robusta, etc.) and how they affect flavor and strength.
2. Customer Service Skills
- Friendly Communication: Greeting customers warmly and taking orders in a professional and approachable manner.
- Problem-Solving: Addressing customer complaints or special requests with patience and creativity.
- Personalized Recommendations: Suggesting coffee drinks or pastries based on customers’ preferences or dietary needs.
