Design Leadership and Direction
- Provide leadership and guidance to the design team, ensuring that design work aligns with project goals, client requirements, and industry standards.
- Set design objectives, establish clear design direction, and ensure that design solutions meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of design strategies, ensuring that the team works efficiently and that design progress is on track.

Project Management
- Develop and manage design schedules, ensuring that all design work is completed within the allocated timeline.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., engineering, procurement, and construction) to ensure design work is integrated into the broader project.
- Monitor the design budget, ensuring that design-related costs are within the allocated budget and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Identify and address potential design challenges early in the project lifecycle to prevent delays or cost overruns.

Team Management and Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of designers, engineers, and architects, ensuring high levels of collaboration and performance.
- Conduct regular design reviews, ensuring quality control and that designs meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a collaborative environment where designers can share ideas, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the overall success of the project.
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members and ensure that their work is aligned with the design objectives.

Client and Stakeholder Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact between the design team and clients, ensuring that client expectations are met and that any changes or feedback are communicated effectively.
- Present design concepts and progress updates to clients, stakeholders, and senior management, making sure to manage expectations and address any concerns.
- Work with the client to understand their vision, needs, and requirements, translating these into effective design solutions.

Design Quality Assurance
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure that all designs meet the required standards and are free from errors.
- Review and approve design documents, including drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring they comply with industry standards and client specifications.
- Ensure that the design work is properly documented, including revisions and approvals, for future reference and compliance.

Compliance and Regulatory Management
- Ensure that all design work complies with relevant industry codes, standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and industry standards, ensuring that designs remain compliant throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies and third-party reviewers to obtain necessary approvals and certifications for the design.

Risk Management and Problem Solving
- Proactively identify and address design-related risks, including potential technical issues, budget overruns, and schedule delays.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and resolve design problems as they arise, ensuring minimal impact on the overall project.
- Collaborate with other project managers and teams to address challenges and find innovative solutions.
Desired candidate profile
We are looking for a Design Manager for one of the ADNOC Distribution project in Abu Dhabi.
Qualification Required
- An Engineering Degree with handfull experience in the major design applications and softwares.
