Roles and responsibilities
1. Providing Spa Treatments:
- Massage Therapy: Administer a range of massage techniques, such as Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy, reflexology, or sports massage, to relax and relieve tension in clients' muscles and joints.
- Facials: Perform facial treatments to cleanse, exfoliate, and nourish the skin, including specialized treatments for different skin types or concerns (e.g., anti-aging, acne treatment, hydrating facials).
- Body Treatments: Offer body scrubs, wraps, and other skin care treatments aimed at detoxifying, exfoliating, or hydrating the body.
- Hydrotherapy: Provide water-based treatments such as hydrotherapy baths, saunas, steam, or hot tubs to improve circulation and promote relaxation.
- Manicures & Pedicures: In some spa settings, a therapist may also perform basic nail care treatments such as manicures and pedicures.
- Specialized Therapies: Depending on the spa's offerings, a therapist may perform additional services such as reflexology, acupuncture, or Ayurvedic treatments.
2. Personalized Consultation and Guest Care:
- Conduct Initial Consultations: Before administering treatments, spa therapists should assess the guest's health, skin type, preferences, and any areas of concern (e.g., tension in specific muscle groups).
- Recommend Treatments: Based on the consultation, recommend appropriate treatments and products that will best suit the guest's needs. This may involve offering advice on self-care routines and products for home use.
- Customizing Treatments: Tailor treatments to meet the specific needs of each guest, making adjustments based on preferences or feedback during the session.
- Ensure Comfort: Ensure guests are comfortable throughout the treatment, adjusting room temperature, lighting, and music as needed to create a relaxing atmosphere.
3. Maintaining Spa Environment:
- Clean and Prepare Treatment Rooms: Ensure treatment rooms are set up properly with all necessary supplies and equipment. After each treatment, therapists are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the room and equipment.
- Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Keep track of spa supplies and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and restocking as necessary.
- Create Relaxing Ambience: Ensure the spa environment is serene, including lighting, music, aromatherapy, and cleanliness to create a calming experience for clients.
- Hydration and Relaxation: Offer guests water or herbal tea post-treatment to promote hydration and aid the relaxation process.
4. Customer Service and Communication:
- Engage with Guests: Build rapport with guests to create a comfortable and trustworthy environment. Answer any questions they may have about treatments or products.
- Provide Aftercare Advice: Advise clients on how to care for their skin or muscles after a treatment (e.g., avoid sun exposure after a facial or drink plenty of water after a massage).
- Address Concerns: Actively listen to guest concerns or feedback, adjusting treatments accordingly to ensure maximum satisfaction.
- Promote Spa Services: Promote other services, packages, and products available at the spa (e.g., skincare products, wellness packages, special offers).
5. Adherence to Health and Safety Standards:
- Ensure Hygiene and Cleanliness: Strictly follow hygiene and sanitation protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment for guests.
- Observe Health Protocols: Be aware of and follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of equipment, disposal of used items, and maintaining cleanliness in treatment areas.
- Maintain Client Confidentiality: Respect guest privacy and confidentiality at all times, especially regarding personal health information.
6. Continuous Learning and Professional Development:
- Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Stay current with the latest trends in spa treatments, techniques, and wellness products.
- Participate in Training: Attend workshops, conferences, and other training sessions to enhance skills and learn new therapies or techniques.
- Feedback and Improvement: Continuously seek feedback from guests and supervisors to improve skills and service delivery.
Desired candidate profile
With the global growth of our brands, you will be an integral part of the Resort’s success and your role goes beyond developing potential relationships with our guests and colleagues. Where you will be responsible for delivering exceptional treatments to our loyal guests of the spa in line with the Hotel brand standards, whilst maintaining excellent five-star client care, cleaning standards and grooming. Responsible for revenue generation through retail, up selling and cross sales to other business centers in the spa.
Suitable candidate will be reporting directly to the Director of Spa and should have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position in luxury resorts or five-star hotels. He/She must have a strong experience in health & beauty section, creative, dynamic, passionate, flexible and with good leadership skills.
Excellent spoken and written English will be required.
