Position Overview: The Shuttering Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and maintaining formwork for concrete structures within petrochemical facilities. This role ensures that formwork is built to specifications and adheres to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Construct and assemble formwork for concrete pouring, including walls, columns, and slabs.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
Ensure the accuracy and alignment of formwork to specifications.
Collaborate with project managers and other trades to coordinate construction activities.
Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Inspect completed formwork for quality and safety before concrete is poured.
Follow all safety regulations and procedures to minimize risks on-site.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; certification in carpentry or a related field preferred.
Proven experience as a shuttering carpenter, particularly in industrial or petrochemical settings.
Strong knowledge of concrete formwork techniques and materials.
Proficient in using carpentry tools and equipment.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and handle heavy materials and equipment.
Willingness to work in various environments, including outdoor and industrial settings.
