Roles and responsibilities
The Tour Guide is responsible for delivering excellent customer service through meet-and-greet services, arrival and departure assistance, and guiding tours in Abu Dhabi and across the UAE. Additionally, the Tour Guide will support various office teams, assist with excursion sales, and help the operations team with various tasks. This role reports to the Guide Supervisor.
Job scope:
- Meet and greet clients at the airport, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth transition to their accommodation.
- Provide arrival and departure assistance to clients, including managing logistics and ensuring timely transfers.
- Conduct informative sessions with clients at their hotels post-arrival to provide valuable information and sell excursions.
- Lead informative and engaging tours in Abu Dhabi and throughout the UAE, sharing knowledge about the region's history, culture, and attractions.
- Ensure all tours are informative and engaging, enhancing the overall client experience.
- Adjust itineraries according to weather forecasts and length of tours to ensure a seamless experience.
- Support the Product team in creating new itineraries and advising on changes to existing itineraries.
- Manage the emergency line for in-house clients, assisting as needed.
- Drive and/or guide clients on tours and excursions as required.
- Follow new offers and updates related to restaurants and attractions continuously, keeping the product team informed about changes and new opportunities.
- Support the reservation and operation team in the office during off-tour periods, assisting with administrative tasks and customer service.
- Assist the hotel desk team with the sales of excursions, providing information and recommendations to guests.
- Actively sell excursions to clients, meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Desired candidate profile
The ideal candidate should have:
- Degree, Diploma, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience as a tour guide in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.
- Abu Dhabi & Dubai Tour Guide License.
- UAE Driving license.
- Valid First Aid Certificate
- Multilingual abilities in English and at least one of the following languages: Arabic, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Czech or Polish.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi and UAE history, culture, and tourist attractions.
- Ability to manage groups and provide outstanding customer service.
- Flexibility to work varying hours and travel as needed.
- Competency using MS Office applications.
