Structural Inspector

Roles and responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of sewerage manholes, chambers, and civil structures related to STPs and PS
• Perform detailed assessments of manholes in the wastewater network, accurately recording and reporting their condition
• Evaluate civil structures, buildings, and facilities associated with STPs, ensuring comprehensive condition documentation
• Interpret civil drawings to efficiently locate and assess manholes, pump stations, and sewerage treatment plants across various locations
• Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement consistent assessment methodologies for civil and structural assets
• Contribute to the creation of standardized protocols for seamless integration of condition data
• Provide actionable insights to inform maintenance strategies and capital planning for civil infrastructure
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements in all inspection activities
• Travel to and work at various sites across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra regions as required
  
  

Here's what you'll need

• BSc in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited university; diploma holders with extensive experience may be considered
• Approximately 5 years of experience in civil and structural work related to sewerage infrastructure, including STPs and PS
• Proven track record in inspection of sewerage manholes, chambers, and civil structures for wastewater networks, pump stations, and treatment plants
• Demonstrated ability to assess and accurately record the condition of manholes, civil structures, buildings, and facilities in sewerage systems
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting civil/structural drawings for sewerage infrastructure
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in field conditions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Willingness to travel and work at various sites across the region

• Inspection Skills: Proficiency in conducting inspections of construction sites, reviewing structural elements such as beams, columns, and foundations.

• Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze technical drawings, specifications, and engineering reports to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.

• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to assess issues on-site and recommend effective solutions to address non-compliance.

• Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication to report findings, explain compliance requirements, and collaborate with project managers, contractors, and engineers.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local, state, and national building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., AISC, ACI).

• Record Keeping: Proficient in maintaining accurate inspection records, reports, and documentation for compliance and project tracking.
